Heartbreak, suffering and sorrows fall from us in tears that mysteriously find their way into the rockpools that form at the base of waterfalls, tumbling and swirling on and on into ponds, creeks, rivulets and lakes.
On silvery, moonlit nights, tender water maidens gather all of our tears, and weave them into reed garlands that they wear in jewelled crowns on their drifting tresses. Transforming our grief, the maidens sing, and bind our sorrows with time, turning tears into precious memories, lessons into wisdom, maturity and the rich fullness of lived experience.
The Mozas del Agua are mythological, Cantabrian (Spanish) water wenches; sparkling, lily-clad beauties who tend the ebb and flow of life.
